We know the Swedish to be great lovers of Alsatian wines and very serious tasters as well. A new guide dedicated to Alsace has recently been published in Sweden and English-speaking countries. The photos are amazing!! And for a good reason: the author is a photographer. Thank you for the good commentary! Don't miss the extract on KLUR!

"Wines for mondays" is what Clement Klur calls his simpler wines on the price list. The more presigious ones he calls "wines for sundays". The tasting room at the winery, designed by his wife, incorporates a variety of styles and materials, giving it a pleasant, almost psychedelic look. Next to the computer by the office area stands a somwhat older wash register. On the rear wall behind the tasting tables, a Roman motif has been painted and an iron spiral staircase, leading nowhere functions as a display for the wines. Even the wine cellar has not escaped design. The old oak barrels have been positioned in a large oval on th cobbled floor, giving the impression of an italian Piazza in miniature. Really attractive !
Today in the tasting room, it is difficult to hear what is being said because immediatly next to it a bottling line is in progress. The sliding doors must be kept closed at all times but first I have to have a quick look into the production area. Efficient hands and strong arms are feeding empty bottles and corks into the machine. The wine is being pumped through hoses to the filler and the filled bottles are stacked in large wooden crates. On a carton, stands a half empty wine glass. It is a matter of paying attention to the body's liquid balance..!
All the wines are made biodynamically and organically here the foremost one being a riesling Grand Cru from Wineck Schlossberg that is a fruity, elegant wine with good structure. The Riesling from Sommerberg tends to be more flowery and somewhat simpler. The Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer are also very pleasant wines, althought they do not come from a grand cru but from an area around Katzenthal, like all the other wines produced here."
