2007 begun very nice: a hot spring time, dry and sunny...flowering was one month earlier as usual...we expected harvest for mid august...

The end of June brought hail storms and destroyed 30 to 40% of the grapes, july and august were cold and rainy....we thought of a terrible vintage. No maturity by mid-august....In the last days of the month, the rain stopped and pinot blanc was ready to pick for Crémant. It was a quick harvest because the storm didn't leave many grapes in the vineyard. Starting in September, angels ordered sun, blue skies, and hot nights .....an indian summer, within 10 days the grapes finished the maturation that they had started in spring and we mesured 14° alcool at the pinot gris grapes mid-September... perfect !! one week more for the riesling grand cru and gewurtzraminer and then the late harvest of mid of october...A lucky year after all!!

This is the 2007 harvest team, a lot of young and dynamic people and our oldest partner Dédé, more than 40 years of harvest at Klur !!
